In the beginning…
SweetHawk was founded in 2015 by Vincent Brendel & Peter Godden. Both had a history in customer support, a passion for solving real-world problems and had already been working around Zendesk for years.
Vincent had implemented Zendesk into his support team and had already built the official Salesforce and SugarCRM integrations with Zendesk.
In May 2014, Zendesk was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Peter stood in the back between Zendesk co-founders Mikkel and Alex when the bell rang. His time at Zendesk as a solutions consultant and trainer inspired him to take the next step.
But, when Vince and Peter first came together, surprisingly, building apps for Zendesk was not their first idea, nor their second. It took several learning experiences for them to realise that their superpower for solving real-world problems was staring at them all along; to leverage their large exposure to businesses using Zendesk and the problems they’d seen first hand as opportunities to build apps. Apps that improved workflows, created automation, enabled audibility and empowered agents with efficiencies previously unseen in the apps marketplace.
Their first app, Calendar, was released onto the marketplace in December 2015. Its integration syncing events in Zendesk with Google Calendar allowed teams to plan transparently without having to swivel chair between systems. Within weeks, the Calendar app had been installed by dozens of businesses and the feedback was flowing in thick and fast. That feedback fueled further improvements, like an extra integration with Office 365. But it also inspired entirely new apps, like Tasks, Reminders and Approve.

Since those early days, SweetHawk has grown to be the number 1 apps provider in the Zendesk marketplace, now offering 16 apps that continue to mature and increase in number. With an expanding customer base of thousands of businesses who have come to rely on them for pivotal business workflows, SweetHawk is now a cornerstone of the Zendesk landscape.
The increasing prevalence of SweetHawk’s enterprise-ready apps has helped to crystalize Zendesk as a superior solution for organizations that may not have otherwise considered it in the past, particularly in the ITSM and HR spaces.

2020 was a challenging year for all of us in many respects and it surfaced that our team needed a new style of leadership. We were very fortunate to be able to attract Tom Hissink as CEO, who was battle hardened at Australian tech staple Carsales and held the COO position at startup Drawboard prior to joining us. Tom brings the experience and aptitude for the next stage of SweetHawk's growth journey.
SweetHawk also has a track record of working with the Zendesk sales and solutions teams to understand the workflow requirements of any organization - large or small - and to provide roadmaps to successful implementations, no matter how complex.
